![]() Duran’s fusion of skill and savagery had an enormous effect on me moments after the telecast ended I raced into my older sister’s bedroom, began throwing punches in the air and yelling “look at me! Look at me! I’m Duran! I’m Duran!” She looked at me, all right - she looked at me as if I were crazy. Duran floored DeJesus in the seventh and scored a fight-finishing second knockdown in the 11th. The first five rounds of this match remain among the most intense I’ve seen, but the pulsating pace - combined with the searing heat - eventually broke the challenger’s stamina and his will to fight. ![]() Duran, flashing a sheepish grin, regained his feet, then regained his footing by forcing DeJesus into ferocious toe-to-toe exchanges. Just as he had done in New York 16 months earlier, DeJesus decked Duran with a hook to the jaw in the fight’s opening round, and, at least for a few moments, it looked as if Duran’s championship reign was imperiled. The fight more than lived up to its preamble. Would DeJesus repeat his triumph or would Duran exact his revenge? That was enough for this nine-year-old to keep the channel selector where it was, and that decision ended up changing my life. WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh (my area’s ABC affiliate) aired the match and I tuned in just as broadcaster Howard Cosell began detailing a most compelling storyline: Duran, the reigning WBA lightweight titleholder, was facing the only man to have defeated him in his 42-fight career as well as the only man to have floored him - and this time Duran’s championship was on the line. On that scorching, sun-drenched Saturday afternoon at the Gimnasio Nuevo Panama in Panama City, Duran faced the highly regarded Esteban DeJesus for the second time. ![]() Despite my young years, I had already invested more than six-and-a-half years of my life into “The Sweet Science” and the reason I made that decision was because of what Roberto Duran did against Esteban DeJesus on March 16, 1974. On Thursday, November 25, 1980, I was just days away from celebrating my 16th birthday. The following is one man’s recollection of this touchstone event, an event so fascinating on so many levels because it involved two all-time greats with contrasting styles, backgrounds and mindsets and because it best illustrates the truth behind Hall of Famer Larry Merchant’s declaration that boxing is the theater of the unexpected. In that moment, he owned Duran - mind, body and soul. His combination of athletic superiority and psychological mastery allowed Leonard to conquer the man who had once conquered him in the most emphatic manner, and in rejoining the roll call of champions, Leonard also inflicted a permanent scar on Duran’s legacy. The avalanche of speculation served to overshadow the remarkable achievement produced by the fight’s winner not only did Leonard avenge his only professional defeat to date and regain the WBC welterweight title he lost just five months earlier, he forced the sport’s ultimate warrior to carry out the ultimate act of submission. They posited a variety of motives in the hopes of cracking the code because Duran’s own explanation - stomach cramps - seemed too simplistic and too limited to produce such an epic result. Although Duran has repeatedly said he never uttered the words “no mas” to Meyran, Leonard-Duran II instantly became the ” ‘No Mas’ fight,” so much so that “Uno Mas” was used as the tagline for their rubber match nine years later.ĭuran’s surrender was so unthinkable that it spawned a legion of amateur detectives and psychiatrists. ![]() ![]() Forty years ago today, the boxing world witnessed one of its most seismic moments: Roberto Duran turning his back on Sugar Ray Leonard and telling referee Octavio Meyran multiple times that he didn’t want to continue fighting. ![]()

I blueprint repairs to the wall and instantly four of my five colonists get malaria, including both doctors. I'm guessing the random location where they WANT to be is somewhere on the other side of my farming area wall, so they all telepathically and instantaneously notice the path to the Promised Land and stampede through and start gobbling up my devilstrand. Entire HERDS of animals charge for the hole in my wall like there's free candy on the other side. I finish off the raider and suddenly a STAMPEDE of animals head for the hole in my wall. ALL THE BONDED ANIMALS head to the spot where my hunter WAS standing. My two hunters arrive and start shooting. The raider heads straight for the wall and blows a hole with a grenade. I have my farming area walled off with wooden walls to keep animals from eating my devilstrand. I don't want them bonded to her, but they're force-bonded whether I want them bonded or not. I understand this is alpha and there will be a few frustrations, but they're really starting to add up, and these are not bugs we're talking about they're the result of the way the game is designed, which is much more troublesome. I am not at a complete loss and thoroughly confused.Fortunately, I had a second keyboard lying around. Yet another update: Adding to the headache, it would seem disabling Show Draftee's Weapon only temporarilly fixed it. UPDATE: I solved it, it was the Show Draftee's Weapon mod I have no idea what it was conflicting with or why it only started randomly and only with random collonists, but it is solved. Although this doesn't completely fix the problem, as long as I avoid drafting them it will be bearable. Anyone know how to fix this problem w/o scrapping my saves and uninstalling a load of my mods? ![]() I do have an absolute ton of mods installed, and a quick search suggests JecsTools could be causing it, but that is an essential mod required for a large portion of my mods to function. Of course, this all makes the game borderline unplayable. What makes it weirder, while most of the UI just straight disappears, some parts just glitches out, mainly the colonist bar only showing a fraction of the colony, and description boxes staying on screen. Sometimes when undrafting pawns, the entire UI glitches out, requiring me to exit out to the main menu and reload the save. ![]() ![]() Icons associated with folders are not fully copied with "Copy to Right" By default, "" would be in this list, which would mean that the presence/absence/size/content discrepancies in this extended attribute would be ignored. (You have already dealt with the need to perform comparisons of folders themselves on the prior Finder Tag/Label fix where the Tag/Label was on the folder itself.)Ĥ) The color to indicate difference in extended attributes could be the same color you already use if a discrepancy is found in the resource fork with "Check Resource Forks".įinally, you might add a new kind of filter similar to "File Filters" where particular extended attribute types can be listed to be ignored. (I would probably also consider a situation where if one file has a particular fork of zero size, and the other file does not have that same fork at all also to be a size discrepancy, like zero and null being regarded as different values).Ģ) If the main comparison method includes "content", the content of each file fork would be compared bit-for-bit and a discrepancy in any fork would deem the files different.ģ) For comparision of folders themselves, at the folder level, 1) and 2) would be applied to the extended attributes attached directly to the folder, as there will be no data or resource forks. If one file has a particular fork that is missing in the other, that would be regarded as a size discrepancy as well. If there is a size discrecpancy in any fork between two files being compared, then the file has a size discrepency. Once a user checks "Check all Extended Attributes", it would have the following effects:ġ) If the main comparison method includes "size", the sizes and existence of the data, resource fork, and each of the other extended attributes would be compared (I will consider each of these to be forks in the remainder of this description). (Or alternatively, to compare with "Check all Extended Attributes" checked and "Check Resource Forks" unchecked might mean to check all the other extended attributes and to skip the resource fork.) If a user clicks this and "Check Resource Forks" is not already checked, it would become checked as well because the resoure fork is a type of extended attribute. You could add a checkbox below "Check Resource Forks" called "Check all Extended Attributes". I have some thoughts on how the xattr comparision could work, UI-wise. Thanks.Īdding xattrs comparison requires a huge amount of work so for now this feature is not planned ![]() Maybe an option "Check all xattr" could be added next to the "Check Resource Forks" option that compare sizes, existence, and content (if content option is also selected) of all types of extended attributes. ![]() Add feature to compare all extended attributesĬan you please enable Visual Differ to detect differences in extended attributes of both files and folders that go beyond the "Check Resource Forks" option which I assume only checks for ? ![]() ![]() ![]() With its functionality, economic viability and penchant for artistic labels, it is clear we have seen the perception of the beer can change.
